Plot

Like the earlier cartoon series Tiny Toon Adventures, Baby Looney Tunes was a "retro" project involving most of the familiar characters from the Warner Bros. animation stable. Rather shamelessly emulating the classic Muppet Babies, the series offered infant versions of Bugs and Babs Bunny, Daffy Duck, the Tasmanian Devil, Sylvester, and Tweety, all wearing diapers and all cared for by Tweety's traditional "keeper" Granny. Tied in with a new line of Mattel toys, the program was far more "age appropriate" than the irreverent earlier incarnations of these famous characters. "It's a very cute, sweet show with a positive message," explained WB animation president Sander Schwartz. Given a sneak preview over the Cartoon Network on September 3, 2002, Baby Looney Tunes made its official cable-TV and syndication premiere on September 16. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Baby Looney Tunes is an American animated television series that shows Looney Tunes characters as toddlers. It was produced by Warner Bros. Animation.

The show premiered on WB stations usually before or after the Kids' WB! block on September 14, 2002. The show is similar to Muppet Babies, with the main characters taken care of by Granny, except the Granny in this show has her head seen, while the one in Muppet Babies was only shown from the shoulders down.

Characters

The main characters are:

The show has also featured toddler versions of Baby Porky, Baby Elmer, Baby Sam, Baby Gossamer, Baby Michigan (in one episode Sylvester hits a golden statue of him), Baby Wile E. & Road Runner, Puppy Marc Antony, Baby Foghorn and Puppy Barnyard, Baby Pepé, Baby Duck Dodgers (in one episode Daffy dresses up as Dodgers for Halloween, which was "A Mid-Autumn Night's Scream"), Baby Marvin, Puppy K-9, and Baby Instant Martians (in same episode as Baby Duck Dodgers), usually during musical sequences between stories and in some episodes. Baby Speedy never appeared in the show.

In February 2004, Cartoon Network ordered 26 new episodes of the show for the new season after a three year hiatus. A new character, Floyd (a teenage babysitter), was added as well, and the animation and plotlines seem most appropriate for older kids and teenagers.

Later, in August 2005, Cartoon Network ordered 13 new episodes of the show for the third season after airing the last season. Four new toddler versions was added, where the animation and plotlines look more three-dimensional and appropriate a little more.

Britt McKillip, the voice for Baby Lola, was the only child actress; she began the role at the age of 11. The other cast members were adults.

June Foray was the only American actress, while everyone else is Canadian.
