Humble glass canning jars built the fortune that founded Ball Memorial Hospital (BMH). The hospital is now is the 400-bed flagship facility of Clarian Health Partners' hub in East Central Indiana. The hub includes little Blackford Community Hospital, as well as physician offices, pharmacies, and home health care programs. BMH also serves as a teaching hospital, providing internships and residency programs in specialties including internal medicine and family practice. The hospital is undergoing a $120 million expansion which will create more private rooms, expand room for existing services, and add a new cardiac care unit.

Ball Memorial Hospital is the only hospital in the city of Muncie, Indiana. It was founded by the Ball Brothers, hence the name Ball Memorial Hospital. It is near the campus of Ball State University.
