Moral anxiety: Does being a slave prohibit coverage of fundamental basic human rights?

In Horney's theory, Shimin combats basic anxiety by adopting a "moving away from people" coping mechanism. This involves withdrawing emotionally and physically from others to protect oneself from perceived threats or sources of anxiety. Shimin may also develop strategies such as detachment or isolation to create a sense of security and independence.

There are different severities of anxiety so different treatments are proposed. The treatment for the most basic anxiety that I found is therapy and medicine. Other treatments are relaxation techniques, learning to calm down, and looking at your problems in a new light.
