Bay St. Louis actually got it's name from the French explorer Pierre LeMoyne D'Iberville and his brother, John Baptiste. When they first arrived at the area now known as Bay St. Louis, it was on the feast day of the patron saint, King Louis IX. Baptiste named the area Bay St. Louis to honor him.
