Conifers bear cones, (hence the name) and in general Broadleaf trees do not do so. But the Drachophyllum genera have long needle like leaves, and many monocotyledons have a similar habit.

The dichotomy Broadleaf/Conifer is not a very good one. The dichotomy Deciduous/Evergreen is even worse.

A better one is Angiosperm/Gymnosperm which has rather definite descriptions of their characteristics.
