Belus, in Greek myth, king of Egypt, son of Poseidon and of Libya or Eurynomē, twin-brother of Agenor, father of Aegyptus and Danaus. Through his sons he became the ancestor of several royal houses in Greece and Africa. Belus was also the name of Dido's father.
