Mount Sinai, also known as Mount Horeb, is a mountain in the Sinai Peninsula of Egypt that is a possible location of the biblical Mount Sinai. It is part of the Sinai Desert which is part of the larger Sahara.

Egypt is home to many mountains, but the most famous mountain is doubtlessly Mount Sinai in the the Sinai peninsula. Mount Sinai is believed to be one possible location for the biblical Mount Sinai and as such is a holy site for the abrahamic religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Moses received the Law, known as the Ten Commandments, from God on Mount Sinai. This event is described in the biblical book of Exodus.

For the same reason we say Mount Shasta, Mount Rainer, Mount fuji, ETC.

The Hebrew is also "Har Sinai" which is "Mount Sinai" not "Sinai Mount".
