i believe you mean copepods they are very very small almost microscopic usually in the sea and in almost every freshwater aquarium they are good and help with both biofilter and they help feed fry being so small. They are a crustestian the best place is wiki.com just type "copepods" there only defense is to swim away and they can swim super fast. their really facinating little creatures but sometimes you want to be careful as they can carry tapeworms or other illnesses if brought from the wild which is rare in home aquariums but more likely in outdoor ponds.
