Notes

The song's lyrics mention Jason and "countless screaming Argonauts", the lightbulb's primitive ancestry (depicted in a picture of a lighthouse on the opposite wall), filibustering, infinity, a Longines Symphonette radio, and guardian angels.

The song's video was filmed inside the New York County's Surrogate's Court and Hall of Records building located at 31 Chambers Street in Manhattan.

The band once performed the song on the Tonight Show with Doc Severinsen's orchestra. A recording of this performance appears as a bonus feature on the Gigantic DVD.

The song was included in the 'Tracks Of My Years' feature in the Ken Bruce Show on BBC Radio 2 in 2006. It was one of ten favourite songs chosen by folk-rock singer Al Stewart.

The song was used in the season finale of season two of Private Practice.

Cover versions

The television series Pushing Daisies featured a performance of the song by Kristin Chenoweth and Ellen Greene in the episode "Pigeon", an episode whose music was awarded a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Music Composition for a Series; the song also appeared on the show's soundtrack.[1]

This song was covered by Lemon Demon on his second album, Live From The Haunted Candle Shop, released on July 23, 2003.
