The Boeing B-29 Superfortress was designed by Boeing and built in the United States

B-29 Superfortress built by Boeing. The Superfortress was the only US bomber capable of bombing Japan (reaching) during WWII. The B-17 Flying Fortress did not have the long range required, thusly, the B-29 had to do the job.
