Bonny is a song performed by Australian hard rock band AC/DC, based on the traditional Scottish ballad The Bonnie Banks O' Loch Lomond and played as a tribute to the band's second lead singer, Bon Scott. This song was featured on AC/DC's live album, Live: 2 CD Collector's Edition. Those who listen carefully can hear the fans sing the ballad. Only Angus Young plays the riff to this song.

Fling Thing

Bonny was originally called "Fling Thing." It was recorded during the "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" sessions, and was released as a b-side of the single Jailbreak. It was performed in Glasgow in 1978 for AC/DC's album, "If You Want Blood You've Got It," but it was omitted from the album. After original lead singer Bon Scott's tragic death in 1980, the song was renamed "Bonny." "Fling Thing," meanwhile, both studio and live, now exist on some bootlegs.

Lyrics

Oh, ye'll tak the high road, and I'll take the low road,
And I'll be in Scotland afore ye;
But me and my true love will never meet again
On the bonnie, bonnie banks o' Loch Lomond
