Brändö is an island municipality of Åland, Finland. The municipality has a population of 515 (30 June 2009)[2] and covers an area of 1,648.51 square kilometres (636.49 sq mi) of which 1,540.44 km2 (594.77 sq mi) is water.[1] The population density is 4.77 inhabitants per square kilometre (12.4 /sq mi). The municipality is unilingually Swedish and 84.6% of the population are Swedish speakers.[3]
