Sula leucogaster 28-30″ (70-75 cm). A sooty brown booby, with a white belly in clean-cut contrast to its dark breast. Bill and feet yellowish. Males of the west Mexican race are pale around the head. Immature: Similar; but white of underparts smudged with dusky.
Range: Tropical oceans.
West: A post-breeding wanderer from Gulf of California, mostly to Salton Sea, Imperial Valley, and lower Colorado R.; mainly immatures.
