California's 12th congressional district
California's 12th congressional district spans from the southwestern portions of San Francisco in the north down to San Mateo in the south, and from Moss Beach in the west to the edge of San Mateo in the east, where it borders California's 14th. The 12th is comprised of portions of San Mateo and San Francisco counties. The current Representative for this district is Democrat Tom Lantos. The district has a Cook Partisan Voting Index score of D +22.
The majority of San Francisco, however, is located within California's 8th district, currently represented by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
Voting
John Kerry received 72% of the vote in this district in 2004; George W. Bush received
27%.[1] The district voted for Phil Angelides 51-44% in 2006,[2] Dianne Feinstein 77-18% in 2006,[3]
Barbara Boxer 73-24% in 2004,[4]
keeping Gray Davis 66-34%[5] and
