WikiAnswers uses a variety of "bots" that aid in editing many questions at once. Because of the volume of questions and answers submitted to the community each day, many questions will not receive attention. These bots were introduced so that WikiAnswers remains in top shape. This list contains bots that are active as well as deactivated bots. See more information in the Related Links.

Topicana - helps in categorizing uncategorized questions. This was the first bot introduced.
UnflaggingStrength - helps in flagging questions with inappropriate answers that meet certain criteria.
API Birthday - (pronounced 'appy birthday) created by dedicated WikiAnswers contributor Moobler, this bot asks, answers, edits, recategorizes and adds Related links to age, birthdate and death date questions.
DingoBot - helps fight the good fight against vandalism by flagging certain answers. You can see his mark on answers by the distinctive robot image on flagged questions.
Answers Publishing Network - The Answers Publishing Network gathers content from a plethora of published and private sources and uses this combined knowledge to add content to WikiAnswers.

Retired bots

Duke of URL - named by Ganderton, this bot added related links to questions based on key words in the question title. He debuted in June of 2009 and was deactivated later that month based on... complaints.
Eraser - specialized in deleting questions from the site that do not meet the requirements of the WikiAnswers Stylebook. This bot is currently and permanently retired as of February 8, 2010.
Rye Catcher - specialized in splitting out alternate questions from the old catch-all questions into the new catch-all categories. This bot is currently and permanently retired as of February 18, 2010.
Moobot - created by dedicated WikiAnswers contributor Moobler, this bot helps to merge, answer, and edit similar questions that have similar answers. After more than 1 million edits on WikiAnswers, Moobot has retired and is no longer in use as of September 2010.
IsaBot - the latest bot in the team is a bot created by Answers.com to answer questions and add related links. This bot is currently and permanently retired as of March 26, 2011.
Litter Bot - like Dingobot, Litter Bot automatically flags questions for improvement. Litter Bot flags low-quality answers, dubbed the "vomit flag," using a sophisticated machine learning model. This bot is currently and permanently retired as of August 23, 2012.
TrueKnowledge - With content from trueknowledge.com, the TrueKnowledge bot works to answer some of the long-unanswered questions on WikiAnswers. This bot is currently and permanently retired as of December 27, 2011.
