Biography

The California beauty known simply as Caprice started her professional life as a successful model in England, best known then for her eye-catching ads posing in Wonderbras. She also appeared in national magazines like GQ and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. In 1996 she turned her attention to acting and working as an award show host. In 1999 she proved she had one more trick of talent up her sleeve -- singing.

Caprice Bourret was born in Whittier, CA, in 1971. She began modeling in her home state, but soon began traveling worldwide. Maybe it was the hosting she did for music award shows like the Monaco World Music Awards and the European MTV Awards that first put the idea of being a singer into her mind. Whatever the cause, she released a debut single, "Oh Yeah," in 1999. It was followed by "There Goes Your Heart" and "Once Around the Sun." After a few of her singles were out there for the market, and doing quite well, she began work in 2001 on a debut full-length album. When not working on her singing career in 2001, Caprice kept busy with her own television series, Caprice's Travels, featured on the Travel Channel. That same year she also started a line of lingerie, rightfully called Caprice. ~ Charlotte Dillon, All Music Guide

Quotes:

"We are the creatures of imagination, passion, and self-will, more than of reason or even of self-interest. Even in the common transactions and daily intercourse of life, we are governed by whim, caprice, prejudice, or accident. The falling of a teacup puts us out of temper for the day; and a quarrel that commenced about the pattern of a gown may end only with our lives." - William Hazlitt

"You gave me the key of your heart, my love; then why did you make me knock? Oh that was yesterday, saints above! And last night -- I changed the lock!" - John Boyle O'Reilly

"Never lose sight of the fact that all human felicity lies in man's imagination, and that he cannot think to attain it unless he heeds all his caprices. The most fortunate of persons is he who has the most means to satisfy his vagaries." - Marquis De Sade

"The only difference between a caprice and a life-long passion is that the caprice lasts a little longer." - Oscar Wilde
