Gently tilt the casualty's head by applying downward pressure on the forehead while gently lifting the chin upward.

You can check for unconsciousness by gently shaking the casualty and calling their name. If they do not respond, try tapping their shoulder or pinching their skin. Look for any signs of movement, breathing, or response to stimuli.

A Casualty Assistance Officer must be of equal or higher rank than the casualty. This is also true of the Casualty Notification Officer.
