Maybe. Catmint is a general name for all members of the Nepeta family of plants. Catnip is the name of a specific one, Nepeta cataria. There are hundreds of other plants in this family, ranging from dainty groundcovers to towering stalks of golfball sized blossoms.

There are no chemicals, its naturally grown. My grandma has a few catnip plants in her gardens our cats always hide and play under while eating it. Hope this helped :)
