CDP

 

(1) (Certificate in Data Processing) An earlier award for the successful completion of an examination in hardware, software, systems analysis, programming, management and accounting, offered by the ICCP. See ICCP.

(2) (Cisco Discovery Protocol) A protocol used by Cisco bridges and routers to inform each other of their existence. It sends frames over the data link layer (Ethernet, frame relay, ATM, etc.) to a multicast address. The content of the CDP message is addresses that SNMP messages can be sent to.

(3) (Continuous Data Protection) A system of data backup that continuously archives modified files rather than doing it at scheduled intervals.

  • Census-designated place, an unincorporated area in the U.S. for which Census data is available at the community level
  • Collection-and-Delivery Points, a 3rd party location where parcels can be delivered to and collected from. Commonly used for internet ordered goods where delivery to home is not convenient for the customer. These outlets are generally operated as an additional service by existing businesses e.g. local convenience stores. Some CDPs also facilitate parcel sending.
