Central and Eastern Europe
The term "Central and Eastern Europe" came into wide spread use, replacing "Eastern
bloc", to describe former
It has also come to refer to the European countries east of Germany and south to the Balkan states. Though this usage is not precisely defined, in most cases it includes:
- The Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania
- Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary
- Romania and Bulgaria
and sometimes also includes Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, and Russia.
