chafing
intertrigo

Abrasion caused by mechanical friction where two areas of skin rub together (e.g. in the groin) causing reddening and tenderness. Chafing is particularly common among obese people. Sweating may exacerbate the condition and increase the risk of bacterial infections. Chafing resulting from exercise can be reduced by applying petroleum jelly to areas which are likely to rub against each other (e.g. the inner thighs or nipples of runners).
