Channel 4 News is the news division of British TV broadcaster Channel 4. It is produced by ITN, and has been in operation since the broadcaster's launch in 1982.

On 20 July 2009, it was announced that News at Noon and More4 News would "come off air at the end of the year".[1]
News at Noon
News at Noon was first introduced in 2003 for the duration of the Iraq war, and due to its instant success, it was kept on in the Channel 4's daytime schedule (except when live Horse Racing is being broadcast). It was presented by Krishnan Guru-Murthy. Prior to this bulletin, the programme in the slot was Powerhouse, a political news programme, also produced by ITN. The last broadcast aired on 18 December 2009.
Channel 4 News
Channel 4 News is the name of the flagship evening news programme. Channel 4 News is noted for its extensive coverage of international news and good background reports on current affairs.It is edited by Jim Gray who was previously Deputy Editor of Newsnight. It is anchored by Jon Snow and it is on the air Monday to Friday from 19:00-19:55 on Channel 4. Krishnan Guru-Murthy and Alex Thomson are the main presenters when Snow is absent. Samira Ahmed is the only woman to be main presenter but only on the shorter Friday and weekend programmes.
Channel 4 News is well regarded as a serious news programme, most recently winning a record five Royal Television Society Television Awards in February 2006. These included TV Journalist of the Year for Jon Snow, Home News Award for the Attorney_General leak, and the International News Award for Congo's Tin Soldiers.
It won the News Coverage British Academy Television Award in 2004 and the 2004 International Emmy for the best news program produced and aired outside the United States. Jon Snow won the Richard Dimbleby British Academy Television Award in 2005 for outstanding contribution to the world of news and current affairs.
It is the flagship news programme on Channel 4 which is on the air 19:00-19:55 weeknights on Channel 4. (19:00-19:30 on Fridays). It also goes on Saturday and Sunday evenings, with varying timing.
More4 News
A third programme aired Monday to Friday on sister channel More4. More4 News was anchored by Kylie Morris, it ran for 30 minutes, aiming to go in-depth into a certain issue. The last broadcast aired on 18 December 2009.

Between 1982 and 1989, Alastair Stewart and Nicholas Owen (the latter now with BBC News) were also regular presenters of the Channel 4 News, as was Dermot Murnaghan between 1989 and 1993.
Shahnaz Pakravan, Fiona Murch and Zeinab Badawi were all regular co-presenters in the 1990s; Pakravan alternated with Dermot Murnaghan as the main presenter of the 'Channel 4 Summary' bulletins on Saturday and Sunday evenings.

Music
The music in the Channel 4 News titles is an orchestration of 'Best Endeavours' by Alan Hawkshaw. It was introduced a few months after the channel's launch, and has remained in use since.
