The word "Chateau" on the wine list comes from the name of the Winery that produced the wine. Most often it would indicate that it's French by origin, however, some wineries in Americas incorporated this name into their names. For example, a Canadian winery in the Niagara region named itself Chateau Des Charmes. Some examples of French wineries would be Chateau Milon, Chateau Meyre, Chateau Haut Garrigue, Chateau Bonet etc.
