What does a chimerical scheme mean?

Chimerical Scheme The term "A Chimerical Scheme" is derived from  the Greek Story of Pegasus and Bellerophon. At one point in the  story, The King of Lycia was asked to kill… Bellerophon but instead  of killing him himself, he told Bellerophon to kill the Chimaer,  assuring that Bellerophon would die in the attempt. That is the  origin of a chimerical scheme, and from this I would guess that the  present-day meaning would be to ask somebody to do something that  would bode harm to them without their knowing. A chimerical Scheme  is a scheme that is so wildly fanciful and delusionary that it  could never become a reality, having no existence except in  thought. (MORE)
