The Cahn-Ingold-Prelog priority rules, CIP conventions (after Robert Sidney Cahn,Christopher Kelk Ingold and Vladimir Prelog) or 'R,S nomenclature', are a set of rules used in organic chemistry to name the stereoisomers of a molecule.
