City Bell was founded around 1900 by English immigrants. Its name comes from its founder George Bell. In July 18, 1913, Jorge Bell's heirs sold to Sociedad Anónima de City Bell approximately 3 square kilometres of their grounds that were planned to be sold to people in the hope of founding a new town. As the project did not go on as planned, the grounds were used up to some extent for farming. Finally, a small group of people settled down, and as the town started to grow larger, the need for a train station grew clearer.
