The Civil Rights Act of 1875 attempted to make it law that
African-American people were treated fairly in areas of public.
This Act was removed by the Supreme Court in 1883.

In 1875 congress passed a civil rights act and found it
necessary to pass an almost identical act in 1964 to seal the
loopholes of the original act.
