Act, or omission to act, that violates a legal duty; tort. It gives the victim of the wrong the right to bring a civil action for a remedy.

An act or violation that consists of two wrongs:

1. Tort-negligent act or omission by one or more parties against the person or property or another party or parties. Liability Insurance is designated to cover an insured for unintentional tort.
