Comics Code Authority was created in 1954.

The Comic Book Code, also known as the Comics Code Authority (CCA), was established in 1954 in response to public concerns about the content of comic books.

It is called the Comics Code Authority. original came out in l954. There were two major revisions. Recently DC chucked out the code and came out with a content rating system akin to movies- of their own design.

Comics were burned and banned in the 1950s due to concerns about the content being inappropriate and morally corrupting for children. This was fueled by a moral panic that arose from the perception that comics were promoting violence, crime, and deviant behavior. This led to the development of the Comics Code Authority to regulate content in comic books.
