Canadian health care is publicly funded, provided free at the
point of use, and delivered (mainly) by private entities. Community
Health Centres are responsible for the provision of community
development services, health promotion and primary health care.
These practices have been going since the 1920s, and there are now
more than 300 across Canada. Community Health Centres are also
referred to as Community Clinics in Seskatchewan, or as CLSCs in
Quebec.
