A dog show is an event in which many dog breeds of a particular kennel club meet to be judged. Many times when people say "dog show" they mean a Conformation event in which a judge evaluates a dog based on its adherence to an established breed standard. A dog's conformation is a term used to describe how closely the dog conforms to, or matches, the breed standard. A dog show may only feature Conformation judging, or performance based dog sports like Obedience, Rally or Agility.

Best of show. This shows people that an animal, no matter what the breed, has the best conformation of all breeds displayed at that show.

Very few beef cattle make it as worthy show animals. They have to be in top-notch condition and have near-perfect conformation to be able to compete and win as a show animal. This is especially so in shows that don't allow much "dressing-up" to make the animal more perfect conformation-wise than it really is.

It depends on what you are showing it in. For Conformation, there is a special group called Junior Showmanship, where kids 8-17 can show their dogs.

Read the rules of the show.

That depends on the pups parents (their conformation to breed standards, if they were show dogs, how well they placed in shows)

And what the pups natural conformation is. The pup is worth more if it is AKC registered, AND the parents have good show records.

Usually non registered BYB pups go for between $300-$450.
