Behaviour exhibited by individuals working together towards goals that can be shared. There is much debate concerning the relative merits of cooperation and competition in facilitating learning. Many conditions contain both competitive and cooperative elements, and it is not easy to decide which is more beneficial. In team sports, each performer has to learn to play cooperatively, as well as to express a desire for defeating opponents.
