A hazardous condition that is defined by the ability of an ingredient to alter or eat away at the surface of a metal, plastic, the skin, or other surfaces. Certain acids are corrosive to the skin, metals, and even glass. Certain solvents or esters are corrosive to plastic. A corrosive material is considered a hazardous material and would generate the need for an MSDS. See Flashpoint.
