Biography
American leading man Craig Sheffer was first seen on a nationwide basis on the TV-serial circuit. He played Ian Hayden on the ABC daytime drama One Life to Live, and was cast as the teenaged son of Michael Goodwin and Leigh-Taylor Young on the 1983 prime time serial The Hamptons. Sheffer's earliest starring assignment in films was as the best friend of troubled teenager Emilio Estevez in That Was Then...This Is Now (1985). Among Craig Sheffer's more recent films are A River Runs Through It (1992) (in which he played the older brother of Brad Pitt), Fire in the Sky (1993), and Sleep With Me (1994) (top-billed, as the apex of a romantic triangle which included Eric Stoltz and Meg Tilly). ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
Sheffer was born in York, Pennsylvania to a mother who worked in a nursing home and a father (Rock Sheffer) who worked as a prison guard and screenwriter. He has a daughter named Willow (born November 8, 1993).[1][2] His brother is writer Hogan Sheffer. He is a graduate of York Suburban Senior High School. He is 6' 2".
Craig Sheffer is known for his portrayal of accused murderer Constant Bradley in the 1996 miniseriesA Season in Purgatory and Keith Scott, the nice-guy older brother of wealthy and nefarious auto dealer Dan Scott on the CW Network series One Tree Hill. Sheffer is no longer a series regular. He has also been seen in the TV movie The Long Lost Son (2006).
Sheffer directed the feature film American Crude, a dark comedy starring Ron Livingston and Rob Schneider, it was released on DVD in June 2008.
