Cryptorchidism is a condition in which either both or one of the
testis remain(s) in the abdomen or inguinal area. According to
studies, Bilateral or Unilateral Cryptorchidism affects paternity -
infertility or even sterility. However, Bilateral Cryptorchidism
shown greater effects on fertility compared to the later.
This condition, as well, has shown testicular cancer effect on
the later life.
Men with untreated Bilateral Cryptorchidism will be sterile
(without conception after 12 months of unprotected sexual
intercourse with a woman). And in Unilateral Cryptorchidism it has
subtle effects on fertility this is because of the presence of one
testis which compensates the absence of the other.
And this condition is somehow believed to be hereditary
condition.
