in Cyprus they use euro not cypriot so 1euro = 57 pesos

Euros but previously Cypriot Pounds.

They turned to Euro, 1st January 2008. Things have gotten a little more expensive since then. With the weak pound (at present), it's more expensive for the British holidaymaker.
