Plot

While on vacation, computer game programmer Ethan (Glen Meadows) brings lovely Sophie (Shauna O'Brien) back to his bungalow for a threesome with his girlfriend, Sarah (Beverly Lynne). Harmless enough, but when Sophie and her violence-prone boyfriend, Ray (Evan Kennsington), show up at their house once they get back home, things begin to get ugly. Ray wants Ethan to steal his company's new game software, and he'll do anything to get it, including using Sarah's affections -- or take her life. ~ Buzz McClain, All Movie Guide

Review

An erotic variation on the old "my boyfriend's really evil" device (remember Something Wild?), Dangerous Invitations has the requisite nudity and lovemaking, in addition to a fairly competent (for the direct-to-video erotic genre) thriller story, to hold the obligatory sexual situations together. Evan Kennsington makes for a pretty good latently dangerous bad guy -- he's got those snaky Ray Liotta eyes; in fact, he even has Liotta's name from Something Wild -- Ray. Shauna O'Brien's figure is a masterpiece of surgical manipulation, and she uses it to its best advantage in several scenes. Erotic film fans may be amused by the thicker-than-usual plot; thriller fans may enjoy the sex that decorates the story. But by no means expect anything near as good as Something Wild. ~ Buzz McClain, All Movie Guide
