  • d. asthenia — called also dermal fragility syndrome; see cutaneous asthenia.
  • d. fragility syndrome — see dermal asthenia (above).
  • d. melanocytosis — the malignant neoplastic form of melanoma in horses with multiple lesions in the skin and in internal organs; common, and usually fatal, in gray horses and mules.
  • d. network — sensory nerves of the dermis.
  • d. papillae — fingerlike processes invading the epidermis from the dermis.
