Old English Sheepdog is accidentally fed a secret plant growth
formula and becomes the biggest dog in the world. The 1973 British
children's film is pure fantasy and was not based on a real
dog.
In the real world, an English Mastiff female named "Kell" holds
the record for biggest living dog. Kell was weighed at 286 pounds
in 1999. An Old English Mastiff named "Aicama Zorba of La-Susa",
owned by Chris Eraclides of London, England set the record for the
world's largest dog ever at 343 pounds in 1989.
