Did you mean "discombobulation"? To discombobulate means to confuse or disconcert someone so discombobulation would be the same as confusion.

Discombobulation is the state of being suddenly thrown into confusion, befuddlement or bewilderment. Usually this means that the person is unable to continue with the immediate task; a speaker will be speechless and stunned, perhaps, for a few moments. The bewilderment may last, and the embarrassment that goes along with it, but the state of being stunned into inaction rarely lasts more than a minute or two, and may last only a few moments.

"Discombobulation" is already a word, and means to throw into a state of confusion.
