Discrete simulation systems records events at regular time
intervals when a simulation component generates output. Continuous
simulation systems record events on a nearly continuous basis,
using a relatively small time unit between event recordings.
Discrete simulation is usually faster while still providing an
accurate picture of the system's behavior.
