The Etruscans influenced Rome by turning their villages into towns and cities therefore bringing urbanization to Northern and Central Italy. Etruscans were responsible for an outstanding building program. Rome was their most famous creation.

· The clothes worn by people in positions of authority. The trabea, the robe worn by the king and then the consuls and priests during public ceremonies. The toga praetexta, the robe worn by higher officers of state and the curule chair they sat on as a symbol of their authority. The paludamnetum, a cloak worn by generals and their higher officers when commanding an army (but not during peace).

· The falera, round ornamental metal disks for helmets, armour and harness of horses.

It is difficult to tell. The fashionable theory that the Etruscans conquered and civilized Rome has now been challenged. Its evidence base is flimsy and the assumptions on which it is based are highly dubious. More recent archaeological evidence suggests a different picture.

The Etruscans must have had some influence on their next door neighbors, the Romans. However, this was in the archaic period (the very early days) and much of its traces must have disappeared. Moreover, Etruscan civilization decayed fairly soon, while the Roman one continued to flourish and develop for many more centuries.

We are told that Romulus used an Etruscan ritual for the foundation of Rome. The Roman continued to use this ritual for the foundation of new towns. We also are told that the fifth king, Tarquinius Priscus, a half Etruscan and half Greek, introduced the Etruscan golden chariot, the Etruscan way of celebrating a triumph, various types of clothes worn by the authorities and the priests, the curule chair on which officers of state sat as a symbol of authority, and the lictors. The latter were the bodyguards of the king (and later of the consuls) who bore the fasce, bundles of sticks tied to a pole with an ax.

It is not clear as the Etruscan influenced occurred in the archaic period and then the Etruscan civilization disappeared. Architecture in archaic Rome and Latium (land of the Latins) was influenced by both the Etruscan and the Greeks of the Greek city of Cumae, near Naples. The Etruscans influenced some of the religious cults of the Romans. The toga may have been of Etruscan origin. The fascies, a tied bundle of wooden rods with an ax attached to it, which was used by the bodyguards of the rulers in early Rome was said it have originated from Etruria.

It is not clear because there is not much archaeological evidence. The Etruscan religion had a degree of influence on Roman religion. The Romans said that the fith king of Rome, Taruinius Priscus, introduced a number of Etrucan customs: the trabea (a toga with several purple stripes worn by the kings), the king's sceptre, the toga praetexta (a toga worn by public officials and some priests and, later, freeborn boys not yet come of age), the paludamentum (the cloak worn by Roman generals), the sella curule (a chair public officials sat on as a status symbol), the falera (a precious metal sculpted disk worn on the breastplate during parades by Roman soldiers who had been awarded it as a kind of medal), the lictors (the bodyguards of the kings and later of the consuls of the Roman Republic) and the fasces ( a bound bundle of wooden rods, sometimes including an axe with its blade sticking out) used by the lictors, the tubae (the horns used by the army) and music played on public ceremonies.
