Plot
Jean-Claude Van Damme proves that two cracked heads are better than one in Double Impact. Van Damme plays twins Chad and Alex, who were separated at birth when their parents were brutally murdered by members of a Hong Kong criminal cartel. Incredibly both Chad and Alex have grown up to become world-class martial arts experts. Chad is a snobbish Californian karate instructor, while Alex is a cigar-smoking smuggler in Hong Kong. The two are brought back together by the family bodyguard Frank Avery (Geoffrey Lewis) to team up to avenge their parents' murder. But stacked against them is a thoroughly nasty, over-the-top assassin named Moon (martial arts film great Bolo Yeung). ~ Paul Brenner, All Movie Guide

Van Damme plays Alex and Chad Wagner, twins who are separated as babies when their parents are killed by a crime boss, in a shooting. The parents were followed in a car by a the chinese mafia, and contacted their friend, who comes too late, finding the two parents killed, driving off all but the ringleader of the mob, and one of the two siblings in the car. The other had been carried off by a survivor in the car. Now 25 years later they meet for the first time and join forces to exact revenge on the people who took their parents' lives. They find that their guardian is not their dad, and that they must work together to find Moon, the crime boss, and avenge their parents' death.
Double Impact opened on August 9, 1991 to mixed critical response where most critics cited it as yet another mindless action movie that only had the gimmick of two Jean-Claude Van Dammes. Others gave the film recognition for slick production values.[1]
