Plot

Described as a "reality" version of the cable TV comedy drama Nip/Tuck, the E! Entertainment network's Dr. 90210 chronicled the public and private lives of several genuine Beverly Hills cosmetic surgeons. The emphasis was on Dr. Robert M. Rey, whose small and modest practice was mainly dedicated to providing plastic surgery for those who truly needed it for medical and emotional reasons; Rey's more affluent colleagues Dr. Robert Kotler and Dr. Raj Kanodia, two inarguably dedicated and sincere men who were eager and willing to take on as many surgeries as possible to support their sumptuous (and well-deserved) lifestyles; Dr. Jason Diamond, a handsome young bachelor with a sizeable female clientele; and Dr. Linda Li, who shares a private medical practice with her anesthesiologist husband. Other cosmetic specialists featured on the program include Richard Ellenbogen, John Frank Rosenblum, Steven Svehlak, and Daniel Yamini. Dr. 90210 debuted July 11, 2004. ~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide

Dr. 90210 is a reality television series focusing on plastic surgery in the wealthy suburb of Beverly Hills in Los Angeles, California. The series began its run in 2004. Dr. 90210 gets its name from the zip code of the core of Beverly Hills, familiar to most viewers because of the former popular television series Beverly Hills, 90210.

The show is produced by E!, but is broadcast on several other basic cable network channels, such as the Style Network. Each episode is approximately one hour long. The show stands out from other programs of this sort in that it also examines the lives of the doctors featured in its lineup.

The show features interviews with the patients, semi-graphic footage of the surgeries, and before and after footage of the patients. For example, for patients wanting breast augmentation, the show displays the doctor examining the patient's breasts before and after surgery. For American broadcasts, only content such as the patient's areolas are blocked.

The show began by focusing on the practice of Dr. Robert Rey, a renowned brazilian plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, and his personal life, with wife Hayley Rey and his two children.[1] Other surgeons featured in the first season included Dr. Ellenbogen and Dr. Kotler. The show's lineup has expanded to include other practices such as that of Dr. Gary Alter, Dr. Jason Diamond, Dr. Linda Li, Dr. David Matlock, Dr. William Aiello, Dr. Dean Manus, Dr. Gary Motykie, Dr. Vipul Dev, Drs. Susan and Brian Evans, Dr. Bal Rajagopalan, and Big Brother 2 winner Will Kirby, DO.

The show package was designed and created by E! On Air Design Art Director, Phil Han with Executive Producer Dione Li and SVP, Creative Director, Ann Epstein-Cohen. Show Package Live Action, Director of Photography, Joel Lipton.

According to Dr. Matlock, "the show is over. This past season was the last season. This is insider infromation [sic]."[2]
