Biography

Cinematic pop duo Dusty Trails teamed former Luscious Jackson keyboardist Vivian Trimble and onetime Breeders bassist Josephine Wiggs. The two first met in 1993, when Luscious Jackson supported the Breeders on their European tour; two years later, when Trimble teamed with bandmate Jill Cunniff in the side project Kostars, the duo tapped Wiggs to produce their debut record, Klassics with a K. While Wiggs went on to release a solo record, 1996's Bon Bon Life, Trimble remained with Luscious Jackson until leaving the group in the spring of 1998; Dusty Trails was born out of their mutual admiration for classic movie soundtracks, with the project marking Trimble's debut as lead vocalist. The duo's self-titled first LP followed in 2000; that same year, Dusty Trails also scored the Brad Anderson film Happy Accidents. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide

Dusty Trails is an American music duo consisting of Vivian Trimble (formerly of Kostars and Luscious Jackson) and Josephine Wiggs (formerly of The Breeders). Trimble does lead vocals and Wiggs sings harmony vocals. Their 2000 debut album, Dusty Trails has been described as mood music and it is heavy on keyboards, percussion and bass. It has also been compared to 1960s French and Brazilian pop. Half of the album's songs are instrumental and the other half feature Trimble on lead vocals. The album also includes guest vocals by Emmylou Harris on the track, Order Coffee. Three more songs are also available on the Happy Accidents film soundtrack.
