In class I & II the arch abbreviated (there are no more teeth at the arch), but in class I edentate is in both sides while in the class II edentate is only in one side.

Class III and IV both are intersected; the difference is that in the class III the edentate is in the postcanin sector; in the class IV the edentate is in the intercanin sector.
