Music Encyclopedia: Edward Johnson

(fl 1572-1601). English composer. He served the Kitson family of Hengrave Hall, Suffolk (1572-5), and took the Cambridge MusB in 1594. A contributor to The Triumphes of Oriana (1601), he was highly rated in his day though only a few vocal and instrumental pieces by him survive.
