EMAP was created in 1947.

Information about Emap can be found at many different resources. The best I have found by far is my local library. Just go to the system that stores the card catalog and perform a search for Emap. Another great resource is any local store that sells software products.

Petersen Publishing Company was acquired by British publisher Emap in 1998. Emap later sold off some of its assets to other companies, and the remnants of Petersen Publishing were eventually merged into Source Interlink Media in 2007. Source Interlink Media filed for bankruptcy in 2009 and was subsequently acquired by American Media, Inc.
