Emotionalism is a term derived from a style of painting which is expressionist with the goal of illiciting humanitarianism and social responsibility from the viewer. In its meaning as a research paradigm, the term refers to an approach to conducting research studies that provides a gateway to understanding about people's experiences through using social inquiry methodologies such as ethnography.[1]
