The Enabling Act (passed on the 23rd of March 1933) helped
Hitler massively by effectively making him legal dictator of
Germany.
The Enabling Act stated that Hitler was able to run the
government of Germany for four years without the consent of the
Reichstag (Parliament). The Enabling Act allowed Hitler to
consolidate his power in the run up to him becoming Fuhrer in
August 1934.
Hitler used the Enabling Act to abolish trade unions in May 1933
and later banning all other political parities in July 1933. The
banning of trade unions meant that the workers couldn't organise an
uprising against him and the banning of political parties made
Germany a one-part state where it was very difficult to stand up to
the Nazis.
